SAN
FRANCISCO, California, November 28,
2001 -
NaviCom Inc. announced today that it
has selected Televoke as the automated
telematics service platform for its
GPS Theft Prevention Vehicle System
(GTVS). Televoke will provide NaviCom
with theft notification, tracking, and
control services, via the phone and
Internet, for GTVS end user and call
center applications. The NaviCom GTVS
will also provide premium call center
services such as concierge information,
roadside assistance, and foreign language
translation.
With the automatic notification and
engine disabling capabilities of the
GTVS, car owners can have their stolen
vehicles back safely in a matter of
minutes. In the event a customer's car
is stolen, the owner is automatically
notified of the vehicle's theft via
user-specified phone calls, e-mail,
and/or text pager alerts. The GTVS system
provides the owner with real-time vehicle
location information and can automatically
disable the stolen vehicle's engine
when it comes to a complete stop for
five seconds. Customers then have the
option of calling the police directly
with the location of the vehicle, or
they can contact the NaviCom call center
and request that NaviCom track the vehicle
and relay the information to the appropriate
public safety agency.
For services such as unlocking car doors or locating a vehicle, GTVS customers have the choice of using automated phone and Internet interfaces or speaking with call center representatives. Customers can also call the NaviCom call center to request roadside assistance in the event of a breakdown. The call center representative will use the Televoke tracking function to direct the dispatcher to the precise location of the vehicle.
Clifford Hirano, President and CEO of
NaviCom, is looking forward to the launch
of GTVS. "We are very pleased with both
the customized consumer and call center
interfaces that Televoke has developed
for our customers." Bob Kimball, CEO
of Televoke, shares his enthusiasm.
Kimball adds, "We are delighted to support
NaviCom's unique "high-touch" approach
to the telematics market."
NaviCom expects to introduce GTVS in
select markets in December 2001, with
full US rollout and key international
deployments continuing through 2002.
